When I started at West Cal Chamber I knew very few people, but over just a few months I have gained so many great friends to my life. Today's Outstanding Customer Service Award is one of them. She is a business owner, wife, mother, dog lover like me, artist, member of our chamber, and a board member. If you come to our midweek mixers, you would have the pleasure to meet this sweet lady as she attends most of our mixers. She is always excited to be a part of what we are doing at the Chamber and that is what we look forward to when we have members sign up. It takes all of you to make our Chamber keep moving. One morning Lena and I were leaving the mixer and we had a speaking engagement at Hixsons L.I.F.T meeting and we wanted to bring some door prizes however the dilemma was we had to be there for 10 and nothing is open until then unless we went to Walmart. That's when we saw it, the Big Flock of Five truck! I instantly made Lena turn around and go ask Lisa Reed if she would open a little early for us so we could grab a few gifts. She could have easily turned us away, but that is not who Lisa Reed is. She not only allowed us to shop an hour early, but she tied ribbons on over 20 bags, and gave us tissue to wrap them up all while asking over and over if we wanted her to put them together. She even donated a few items and was one of our door prizes for today's luncheon. If you haven't taken the time, and I mean that when I say you must have time, to walk through her store you must. It is over 7,000 sq ft of local vendor shopping, while most say it can be overwhelming it is a true gem in the heart of Sulphur, LA. Lisa not only shows outstanding customer service she is an incredible artist. It is with great pleasure to be able to honor our dear friend Lisa Reed with this months, Outstanding Customer Service Award.
Our Customer Service award goes to Loretta Celestine for doing one step more than necessary to help her customer. A simple error made on a customers part was completely fixed over the phone by Loretta by simply just stopping and taking time to focus on her customers needs! Congratulations Loretta Celestine with the City of Sulphur for all you do.

August Outstanding Customer Service Recipient went to Carol Davis with The UPS Store in Sulphur nominated by Jessica Olsen. Some kind words spoken by Mrs. Olsen about Ms. Carol:
I am always sending out packages for my work- usually unique in size or shape or things that require a super-fast delivery. I recently started using the UPS Store in Sulphur. Every time I go in there with my difficult shipping items, Ms. Carol helps with a smile and a friendly attitude. She is ...never flustered by my difficultness or the number of people waiting in line.
I went in recently with 5 packages to 5 different locations. While we were prepping them and verifying the info, the store's network went down. She remained content and patient and reassured me that she would get it handled.
A few minutes later, the network came back up and she completed my transactions. The entire time she was "yes ma'am, thank you". She's a class act and we need more people like her in the world!
Congratulations to Tina Jardneaux with Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court/West Cal receiving her Outstanding Customer Service Award. She was nominated by Mr. Mel Estess with the Sulphur Police Department.
Here are some kind words sent in for her nominations:
Trying to describe how this employee demonstrates reason to receive the Customer Service Excellence Award is somewhat hard yet easy due to how compassionate she is working with people through her job duties. Working in the Clerk of Court Office at the Sulphur Location there is high-volume traffic of customers getting birth certificates, many requiring special attention. Tina takes the time to see that each one gets the special attention they need. One thing that really stands out is how well she goes out of her way to make each person feel comfortable.
Mrs. April Muth with Walgreens on Beglis Parkway receiving her Outstanding Customer Service Award. She was nominated by Mrs. Lisa Reed with Flock of Five.
Here are some kind words sent in for her nominations:
A friendly smile is the first thing you notice about April. She is a teacher, and a mother, and has undertaken a second job at Walgreens, where her dedication to making each and every customer feel welcome is blatantly obvious and a part of who she is. April works in t...he pharmacy, which can be quite overwhelming when it is not just "busy"! Despite the challenges associated with providing quick and efficient service, April manages to overcome them easily, accomplishing her work with a smile, always keeping in mind, (and reminding others), that customers coming through the pharmacy are picking up needed medication for family members, or for themselves - they are encountering delays, insurance and care-giver issues, traffic and computer challenges, and more, and that a welcoming smile, and feeling of caring is "part of the job", every day - for every customer. In today's hectic world, April's excellent attitude, willingness to go over and beyond in making each and every customer feel appreciated, combined with her very contagious smile are refreshing; she is truly one-of-a-kind!

Sharamie Moore, Director of Advancement at Our Lady's Catholic School nominated by Heather Hohensee with Tellurian, Inc.
Tellurian's youth leadership program, Sulphur Community Impact Program, recently held the launch of its 2017-2018 project - "Free Little Pantries". The students held a launch event at one of the partner pantry locations, Our Lady's Catholic School. Sharamie Moore was an amazing support to the students and went above and beyond just letting the students use the school's facilities to host the event. She spent several hours over two days helping the students to prepare the space for the event, providing them guidance when some challenges were faced, and making sure that they had everything they needed even loaning equipment at the last second so that the launch event was a success. She also went above and beyond by encouraging OLS families and teachers to also attend the event, ensuring that there was a wonderful turnout for the students project launch.
Congratulations to Mrs. Jacque Celestine, with Popeye's Fried Chicken (Cities Service Hwy, Sulphur) for receiving the Customer Service Award for March. She was nominated by past board member, Ms. Bernadette LeBlanc. She is the epitome of customer service.
